Where to sleep at Mad Cool Festival if you don't like camping
05.07.2024

So after much thought, and after looking at all the options Madrid has to offer this summer, you've decided on Mad Cool Festival. Congratulations, you certainly know how to choose well.

Mad Cool could not miss its annual date with the Spanish capital, and promises days of music, partying and a lot of talent on its stages. As tradition dictates, Mad Cool takes place a couple of weeks after the Pride festivities in Madrid, so this year 2024 Mad Cool will take place from 10 to 13 July.

History of Mad Cool Festival

History of Mad Cool FestivalBorn in 2015, Mad Cool appeared on the music scene with the intention of bringing together the best of various musical styles under one roof in Madrid, both national and international.

The great reception from the public ensured that this project was consolidated and, year after year, continues to attract both big names in music and thousands of spectators eager to enjoy their favourite artists as well as great discoveries. Because that's what Mad Cool is all about: enjoying yourself, broadening your horizons and meeting people with the same interests and tastes as you.

Type of music at Mad Cool Festival

Mad Cool is a meeting point for various musical styles and if you are someone who enjoys the music itself rather than a specific style, there is no doubt that this is the place for you.

Rock music enjoys big names year after year at Mad Cool, although it's true that it doesn't represent the majority of artists, as the profile you're most likely to find is indie and electronic.

It is true that sometimes an indie band can become well-known and popular thanks to some of their songs, but despite being more commercial, they don't lose their essence of independent music and lyrics, with their own style and stamp.

Electronic music does enjoy great prominence at Mad Cool, bringing big names in this style as well as filling stages with thousands of fans during the hours that their sessions last.

Where Mad Cool Festival will be held

Mad Cool has made a tour of some of the best-known enclaves in the Spanish capital. Taking its first steps in Madrid's Caja Mágica, it has moved to such well-known spots as Ifema, with its own Mad Cool space. This year, however, it is once again repeating its location, taking us to Iberdrola Music, between Villaverde and Getafe. A place set up for festivals and concerts that is not as far from an urban centre as you might imagine.

Where to stay during Mad Cool Festival if you don't like camping

OK, so you have an event, but now where do you sleep? It is clear to us that sleeping is not your priority at an event like this, but it is a necessity. After several hours of singing and dancing, it's time to recharge your batteries and now, what can you do?

Let's suppose that you have had a bad experience in the tents, that you know you are not going to sleep much but you want to sleep well to be able to rest. In this case, we offer you two alternatives.

First choice of accommodation at Mad Cool Festival

If you are travelling by bus, plane or car, but you don't feel like sleeping where you drive, which is quite obvious, then we recommend, without a doubt, the best hostel in the city; LATROUPE Prado Hostel Madrid.

Why LATROUPE Prado Hostel? The first reason is the most obvious, the one that jumps out as soon as you take a look at LATROUPE Prado Hostel's website or set foot in it; its facilities are spectacular, superior to everything you can imagine, from its image to the treatment of the staff through the cleanliness and the homely atmosphere.

The second reason is its location; Paseo de las Delicias, 1. Yes, in the very Paseo de las Delicias, in the heart of Madrid, where you have everything at hand and you can enjoy the Spanish capital in its full splendour.

And finally, because of the proximity to Mad Cool Festival. If you have rented a car, it will take you about twelve minutes. And if you go by public transport, something we recommend, you will discover that the connection between the Mad Cool Festival and the city centre, more specifically with your new home in the capital LATROUPE Prado Hostel Madrid, is fantastic.

Just cross the street to Atocha Station, start from Madrid - Puerta de Atocha Renfe train station, and take the C3 line towards Aranjuez train station. Thirteen minutes later, you will be at the San Cristóbal Industrial stop and in less than five minutes you will be there. Just over half an hour, with no changes or transfers. The comfort of staying in the best hostel in Madrid.

Second choice of accommodation at Mad Cool Festival

The second solution is a great plan on wheels; motorhome or van. It is more than possible that you are not from the Madrid region, so coming by car is a viable option, but what if you take your accommodation with you?

The dimensions of the vehicle do not make it complicated to drive, let alone park. Remember that it is a vehicle like any other, so where to park will not be a headache. And that's where the advantages end.

The "cons" outweigh the "pros" in this option; forget about having space and running water. It is an emergency solution, but always as plan B, or even C. Sleeping is also a bit of a challenge because of the lack of space and the heat.
