The Best Family Restaurants and Cafés in Brussels
Chicago Café
Rue des Flandre 45
Just a ten-minute walk from your home in Brussels, the best hostel in Brussels, Latroupe Grand Place, the Chicago Café is a place designed for families.
They have a play corner, where the little ones have all kinds of toys, books, costumes and even board games. When we say that everything is designed for them, we are not just saying that.
All the facilities have been created to enhance the children's experience and make life easier for parents; from high chairs to changing tables. And you can eat just about anything from a quick bite to a full meal, brunch or coffee.
It's very popular with the locals, so if you can book, especially at the weekend, it will save you a lot of waiting time.
Houtsiplou
Place Rouppe 9
This fantastic brasserie is known for the high quality of its food, but now you have one more reason to add it to your route through Brussels: the children.
And we speak in the plural, because even if you only have one son or daughter, your inner child will be awakened. The décor will take you back to your childhood and the atmosphere is cheerful and youthful.
As well as having excellent food, they have been able to adapt it to suit all palates and have special menus for the youngest members of the family. Another of its great advantages is its central location, less than five minutes' walk from Latroupe Grand Place.
Ramic Art Café
Rue Lesbroussart 112, 1050 Ixelles
South of Brussels, already in the Ixelles area, although it seems closer thanks to the ease and speed of public transport in the city. To give you an idea, it's about 20 minutes from the Grand Place.
Everything here revolves around children. Painting and ceramics courses are organised. Develop your child's creativity from the age of three while enjoying a good coffee. A fun and really original place.
Café Novo
Place de la Vieille Halle aux Blés 37
Although it's not a place designed specifically for children, it's a great option for any family with children visiting Brussels for a couple of days. The menu is full of great food, but its appeal is its versatility; you can pop in for a coffee or enjoy a full menu. In addition to its homely atmosphere, there's a great selection of books for young and old alike, which will keep parents happy and children happy.
Café De Markten
Rue du Vieux Marché aux Grains 5
Although it may look too formal for a large family with children from the outside, there's a secret. Inside they organise events for all ages, from adults to children, so you'll have to take a look at their website to be able to participate in all of them.
Outside, too, there's a fantastic terrace for parents to enjoy, and plenty of room for the kids to play.
Lloyd Coffee Eatery
Rue Jean Stas 26, 1060 Saint-Gilles
We arrived in the southern part of the city centre, very close to the imposing Palace of Justice, to enjoy a coffee or brunch with the whole family.
It offers everything the sweet tooth could ask for. They have children in mind, offering fun doughnuts and colourful sweets, plus an exclusive area for the kids to play and have fun while the rest of the family enjoys one of the best brunches in Brussels.
La Fabbrica
Avenue du Port 86C
We swap the south of the centre for the north until we reach La Fabbrica. It's the perfect place to enjoy fantastic Italian cuisine and its famous urban brasserie throughout the week, but at its most succulent on Sundays.
On Sundays an impressive buffet is set out at brunch time, where the children will be left in charge of the entertainment provided by La Fabbrica; from bouncy castles to clowns. Great food, great atmosphere and great service for the little ones.
WOLF 10 minutos
Rue du Fossé aux Loups 50
As was the case with La Fabbrica, WOLF offers an ambitious offer in terms of both the menu and the setting. It is a group of restaurants, 17 in total, where you can try a bit of everything and travel the world without leaving your seat.
WOLF is a food market where you can enjoy the best gastronomy from around the world and the best atmosphere. They always have something new to offer, they always have a new idea, and that's where the family comes in.
They organise events for everyone, keep an eye on their networks, from parties to entertainment for the little ones while the rest of the family enjoys great dishes and tailor-made menus.
