Most romantic restaurants in Brussels
08.07.2024

In every corner of the world there is a place, a moment, to let yourself be carried away by romanticism and in Brussels, it could not be less.

If you want to enjoy some quality time with your partner, surrounded by a unique atmosphere and create a memory that will become one of the best moments of your trip to Brussels, come with us.

Let's take a walk through the most romantic restaurants in the Belgian capital. Some stand out for their atmosphere, others for their food, but whatever their strong point, they have become a haven for those who want to spend a romantic evening.

Most romantic restaurants in Brussels

La Bonne Chère

Rue Notre-Seigneur 19

Just a few steps from the Church of Notre-Dame de la Chapelle, this is a must-visit place to enjoy one of the best cuisines in Brussels, in an atmosphere full of charm.

From Tuesday to Friday you can visit this restaurant known as one of the best in the city, and no wonder, because it has it all: haute cuisine, exceptional staff and an intimate atmosphere.

They are only open for an hour and a half at lunchtime and an hour and a half for dinner. Very exclusive, so remember to book well in advance. It's all worth it to spend dinner here with your partner. Although they also offer lunch, the evening makes it an even more homely place.

À l’Ombre de la Ville

Rue de la Reinette 7

A charming, intimate and reserved restaurant behind the Palais de Bruxelles, the Royal Palace.

A little more colourful than the previous one, but that doesn't spoil its homely and well-kept atmosphere, almost as careful as the presentation of its dishes. They are small, delicate works of art where the flavour and care in the preparation are evident from the first mouthful.

Although it is open every day, we recommend that you try to book a table and, weather permitting, don't hesitate to sit on the terrace if you visit during the day. You won't be able to enjoy the light music in the background, but you will be able to enjoy a fantastic corner of the city.

Emily

Rue de l'Abbaye 4

Before we continue through the centre of Brussels, let's take a step back a little, for a corner that is well worth a visit. South of the city centre, in the southern part of Saint-Gilles, is one of the most romantic and special restaurants in the entire Brussels region.

Emily is a fine Italian restaurant, located in its own four-storey building. If you want to know what elegance and sophistication are all about, call and book a table at Emily. Chef Luca Gaviglio is a true genius and watching him work is a real treat.

Open Tuesday to Friday for both lunch and dinner, while Saturdays are for dinner only. Enjoy a three-course lunch, while for dinner you can choose between a four-course meal and a second option with five courses.

This place is a real hit, both for the atmosphere and the food. And if you think that if you leave the historic centre of Brussels there is nothing interesting to see, you'd be wrong. We recommend a stroll through the gardens of the Abbey of La Chambre, right next to the restaurant.

La Villa in the Sky

IT Tower, Louizalaan 480/25th floor

Without leaving the area, just a five-minute walk from the Emily, and even closer to the Abbey, is one of the most unique and romantic restaurants in the Brussels region.

Hopefully you're not afraid of heights, because here you'll have Brussels at your feet. A haute cuisine restaurant, with tasting menus lasting around three hours that will make you discover flavours and sensations completely unknown to you until the day you meet the phenomenal chef Alexandre Dionisio.

At more than 100 metres above sea level, you will be able to live a completely unique experience, surrounded by glass walls and with panoramic views while you receive exceptional treatment from the staff. If you can visit it at night, it will be a sure hit.

At La Villa in the Sky, elegance, haute cuisine and luxury go hand in hand.

Comme chez soi

Pl. Rouppe 23

We return to the centre of Brussels to stop by Comme Chez Soi, which attracts our attention even before we enter, thanks to the majestic façade of its building.

The staff is friendly and welcoming, making your first moments in the restaurant a warm and pleasant experience. French haute cuisine where the love and care for good workmanship are revealed in every mouthful.

Modernist decoration in its rooms with small tables and charming corners.

Manneken Pis Café

Rue des Grands Carmes 31

We have saved the surprise for last. I'm sure you thought we were wrong, but that's not the case. The Manneken Pis Café hides a particular charm.

Being right next to one of the most emblematic and Instagrammable places in the city of Brussels, you might think that they serve normal food to a room full of tourists who just want something quick to get on their way. Nothing could be further from the truth.

This place has a café downstairs, and a restaurant upstairs. It may not be one of the most romantic places you can imagine, but their restaurant lounge, whether at your private table or in the open kitchen area, hides a different kind of homely charm, especially at night.

It's a place worth going to, with tasty cuisine, great service and an unbeatable location.
